Additional Image Products

The unWISE Catalog data release, in addition to the main catalog, includes a number of additional image data products that may be of use. These include the additional image masks computed by the pipeline, containing, for example, the results of the nebulosity analysis, as well as important quantities like the unWISE coadd PSF and PSF-depth maps. We also provide the model images produced from the unWISE Catalog and the corresponding PSF, plus the sky model.

• unWISE coadd additional info images

  The image info files. These files have three extensions, ignoring the dummy PRIMARY extension. The first gives the inverse variance image corresponding to the 1-sigma PSF flux limit at each pixel of each coadd. The second gives the additional mask image for each coadd. The third gives the PSF image, a product of the output of the unwise_psf module and residuals fit by crowdsource.

  There is one info image file for each combination of unWISE coadd (18240) and band (2), for 36480 total files. The typical size is 7 MB; together the files total 247 GB. The image info files can be downloaded via wget -I unwise/release/iminfo/ --reject "index.html*" -nH --recursive http://faun.rc.fas.harvard.edu/unwise/release/iminfo/.

• unWISE coadd model images

  The model images. Each file contains two extensions, ignoring the dummy PRIMARY extension. The first extension contains the model images, with identical units and WCS to the unWISE coadds. The second extension contains the model sky image. A source-only image can be constructed by subtracting the model sky image from the model image.

  There is one model image for each combination of unWISE coadd (18240) and band (2), for 36480 total files. The typical size is 5 MB, for a total of 241 GB. The model images can be downloaded via wget -I unwise/release/mod/ --reject "index.html*" -nH --recursive http://faun.rc.fas.harvard.edu/unwise/release/mod/.
